Holmes Elementary
Martin Luther King Jr. was born on Jan 15, 1929. When Martin Luther King Jr. was 34, he gave his famous ” I Have A Dream ” speech. A part of his speech is “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed-we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal “. He delivered that part of the speech and more that touched and inspired americans. 5 years later, in 1968 Martin Luther King Jr. was shot and killed. Dr. King’s dream of equality and brotherhood helped lead the way to a better future for millions of African Americans.
Wednesday, January 14th was exiting. We had an assembly with a half puppet man half guitarist named Dave. There were 4 dummies[puppets]. The four puppets names are Skippy, Jim, Clare, and Bat Man.
In art we’re drawing animals in shapes. Then we sketch the lines around the shapes but don’t erase!! You pick one animal first and have five minutes to draw the shapes and sketch the lines and then the same thing with the second one.
Then our art teacher Mr.Z told us to turn our paper upside down and the picture upside down and draw that way for the third picture but for three minutes because were almost out of time.
When we were out of time we passed our work to the end of our row while Mr.Z counts down from five to zero. Then Mr.Z talks a little bit then dismisses us from special.
